The only similar work is the study by Alcañiz et al [9], which, however, did not use a systematic approach for the comprehensive screening and review of existing literature. Furthermore, it not only considered those adaptive interventions in VR but followed a broader gaze aimed at any type of technology.
The literature search adhered to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines [45], ensuring a rigorous search process for this systematic review.
