Emotion Forecasting: A Transformer-Based Approach

Emotion Forecasting: A Transformer-Based Approach

The presence of a specific mood status is a necessary criterion for many psychiatric diagnoses, as outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders [1], and self-perceived mood is a fundamental component of assessing mental states in psychiatry [2,3]. Therefore, precise monitoring and following of mood conditions play a vital role in mental health care.

Virtual Reality Interventions and Chronic Pain: Scoping Review

Virtual Reality Interventions and Chronic Pain: Scoping Review

VR interventions have demonstrated efficacy for more than a decade for mood and anxiety disorders [10,11], and emerging evidence suggests they can reduce pain symptoms in both acute and chronic pain [12-15]. Studies of VR interventions have exploded in recent years, due to advances in technology and the widespread availability of consumer-facing VR devices. Unfortunately, studies to date of VR in chronic pain have not been uniform in approach or device type, limiting generalizability.

Feature Selection for Physical Activity Prediction Using Ecological Momentary Assessments to Personalize Intervention Timing: Longitudinal Observational Study

Feature Selection for Physical Activity Prediction Using Ecological Momentary Assessments to Personalize Intervention Timing: Longitudinal Observational Study

This includes constructs such as intrinsic motivation, intention, action planning, and self-efficacy alongside anticipated contextual barriers and momentary affect (eg, current mood or stress). Therefore, we expect these factors to be strong predictors of PA engagement in this study. The EMA data used in this paper were collected in our prior investigation [15], aimed at understanding the determinants and barriers of PA engagement.

Endorsement of either depressed mood or anhedonia (PHQ-2) triggers further evaluation with the PHQ-9, which assesses for the presence of other criteria for MDD. In multiple studies, PHQ-9 scores >10 had a sensitivity of 88% and a specificity of 88% for MDD [19-21]. The Columbia-Suicide Symptom Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) is used to assess severity and immediacy of suicide risk using four constructs: (1) severity of suicidal ideation, (2) intensity of ideation, (3) behavior, and (4) lethality.

Feasibility and Efficacy of a Novel Mindfulness App Used With Matcha Green Tea in Generally Healthy Adults: Randomized Controlled Trial

Feasibility and Efficacy of a Novel Mindfulness App Used With Matcha Green Tea in Generally Healthy Adults: Randomized Controlled Trial

To assess efficacy, changes in stress levels over 8 weeks and changes in mood before and after single and multiple meditation sessions were investigated. Moreover, other benefits of GTM were explored using a questionnaire. The findings of this study may facilitate the collaboration between the two different fields, mobile health and food science.

Evaluating the Impact of a Daylight-Simulating Luminaire on Mood, Agitation, Rest-Activity Patterns, and Social Well-Being Parameters in a Care Home for People With Dementia: Cohort Study

Evaluating the Impact of a Daylight-Simulating Luminaire on Mood, Agitation, Rest-Activity Patterns, and Social Well-Being Parameters in a Care Home for People With Dementia: Cohort Study

The combined effect of this can lead to disjointed rest-activity patterns and poor sleep quality, which then impacts mood and well-being in the longer term [2,3]. At present, there are over 55 million people living with dementia around the world [4]. This is 55 million people living without a cure for their diagnosis.

Sleep Treatment Education Program for Cancer Survivors: Protocol for an Efficacy Trial

Sleep Treatment Education Program for Cancer Survivors: Protocol for an Efficacy Trial

The primary aims of the study are (1) to determine the efficacy of STEP-1 to reduce insomnia and (2) to improve mood symptoms in survivors compared to a control condition. Specifically, we hypothesize that insomnia symptoms (primary outcome) and mood (secondary outcome) will improve significantly in STEP-1 participants relative to control condition participants (primary aim).

An Ecological Mobile Momentary Intervention to Support Dynamic Goal Pursuit: Feasibility and Acceptability Study

An Ecological Mobile Momentary Intervention to Support Dynamic Goal Pursuit: Feasibility and Acceptability Study

The questions aimed to (1) track mood and motivation; (2) assess goal characteristics such as reward, meaning, and importance; and (3) estimate the extent to which people are acting toward a goal, can visualize it, and feel self-efficacious. In terms of goal pursuit, “I am acting toward a goal” was the primary outcome. Other questions measured mood, such as “How do you feel right now?”

Effectiveness of One Videoconference-Based Exposure and Response Prevention Session at Home in Adjunction to Inpatient Treatment in Persons With Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder: Nonrandomized Study

Effectiveness of One Videoconference-Based Exposure and Response Prevention Session at Home in Adjunction to Inpatient Treatment in Persons With Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder: Nonrandomized Study

After undergoing videoconference-based ERP, patients perceived depth (ie, potency and value), smoothness of the session (ie, comfort and relaxation), and mood after the session (ie, positivity and arousal) as medium to high. Patients who received videoconference-based ERP rated working alliance (ie, agreement on therapeutic tasks and goals as well as therapeutic bond) with their therapist as high.
