Health Care Professional–Supported Co-Design of a Mime Therapy–Based Serious Game for Facial Rehabilitation

Health Care Professional–Supported Co-Design of a Mime Therapy–Based Serious Game for Facial Rehabilitation

The game prototype was implemented via the Media Pipe face mesh [7] to enable the recognition and use of 1 movement (eg, raising eyebrows; ie, frontal muscle) to control game elements. The game involves a spaceship moving horizontally across the bottom of the captured video window and firing a projectile when face movement is detected. The main objective is to hit triangles that randomly appear on the player's face.

Evaluating the Impact of a Cream Containing Horse Placental Extract on Eye Corner Wrinkles in Healthy Women: Single-Blind Comparative Study

Evaluating the Impact of a Cream Containing Horse Placental Extract on Eye Corner Wrinkles in Healthy Women: Single-Blind Comparative Study

The human face is constantly exposed to the outside world, influencing personal impressions [3]. Various age-related facial changes are noticeable [4], particularly periorbital area changes [5]. The skin around the orbits is thinner compared to other parts of the face [6]; wrinkles tend to form at eye corners because of frequent movements, such as blinking and facial expressions [7].

Impact of a Serious Game (#RedPingüiNO) to Reduce Facial Self-Touches and Prevent Exposure to Pathogens Transmitted via Hands: Quasi-Experimental Intervention

Impact of a Serious Game (#RedPingüiNO) to Reduce Facial Self-Touches and Prevent Exposure to Pathogens Transmitted via Hands: Quasi-Experimental Intervention

We can touch the mucous membranes of our face every 2 minutes [7], with a self-touching frequency of up to 50.06 times per hour [8], especially on the mouth, followed by the nose and eyes [9]. The frequency of hand-to-face contact shows great diversity; appears to be context dependent; is influenced by cognitive, attention, and emotional demands; and exhibits substantial individual and locational differences.

Evaluating the Feasibility of Emotion Expressions in Avatars Created From Real Person Photos: Pilot Web-Based Survey of Virtual Reality Software

Evaluating the Feasibility of Emotion Expressions in Avatars Created From Real Person Photos: Pilot Web-Based Survey of Virtual Reality Software

This software has an artificial intelligence (AI) function that enables the user to upload any photograph of a person’s face, thereby transforming it to a 3 D model of the person. This feature also has the ability to adjust and transform the face to make it unrecognizable in the case of a need for privacy protection. The software has a number of pregenerated facial expressions with an additional “expressiveness scale” that can be used to adjust the faces.

Effects of Emotional Expressiveness of a Female Digital Human on Loneliness, Stress, Perceived Support, and Closeness Across Genders: Randomized Controlled Trial

Effects of Emotional Expressiveness of a Female Digital Human on Loneliness, Stress, Perceived Support, and Closeness Across Genders: Randomized Controlled Trial

In the no-face conditions, the digital human appeared as a black screen only. Figure 3 illustrates how the digital human appeared in the no-face, neutral face, and emotional face conditions. The digital human functioned autonomously using a finite-state conversation engine and a neurobehavioral modeling and visual computing framework, as described by Sagar et al [37]. The digital human across the 3 visual conditions (1: no face; 2: neutral face; 3: emotional face).
